We use the 63W41 and 63Y61 lights on our machines. Do you need to take into account inrush currents when sizing circuit protection for these kinds of lights? If so, what is the percentage of inrush current over steady state?

Grote's Answer

Inrush is typically inconsequential for LED products in normal usage, like direct powered devices with standard fusing. If you are powering with advanced electronic control modules (smart FET, outage monitoring, PWM signals, etc.), then you could be impacted. For the latter case, we suggest evaluating the lamp in your environment to determine the system profile and performance. Current draw limits alone would be insufficient to determine full compatibility.
