I always seem to struggle when installing a 6 ½ inch oval lamp. Should you install the gasket to the vehicle first then the lamp? Is there some kind of trick to ease installation?

Grote's Answer

The gasket (grommet) should always be installed first when installing a new stop tail turn or clearance marker light.

Once you have inserted the lamp into the grommet, the grommet will expand around the hole, holding the lamp in place.
