Do the Heat Shrink Tubing and Solder Link Connectors really make that big of a difference on Electrical Repairs, my guys use Shrink Tubing?

Grote's Answer

The best way to address this is to first ask the question, do we always use Shrink Tubing? Most mechanics may have the best intention, they get a new connector, and a piece of shrink tubing, but when the installation is complete guess what is laying on the shop floor, the shrink tubing. Many times it is forgotten during installation or it’s cut it too short to seal the connection completely. By using either a Heat Shrinkable Connector or a Heat Shrinkable Solder Connector, the heat shrink is automatically installed with the correct amount of seal on the wire insulated jacket, all they have to do is apply heat correctly. With the chemicals being applied to the winter roads a properly sealed connection is more important than ever before. Remember, corrosion is the Cancer of the Electrical System on both Tractors & Trailers!
