The three main elements of trailer harness systems are:
- Chassis Ground wiring (under carriage) and Return
Ground (Continuous Ground) wiring
- Body wiring (all system lighting and the circuits
to get the current to these systems.
- 7-Way receptacle (Nose Box)

- CHASSIS GROUND WIRING
The main part of the chassis wiring consists of a main and rear sill harness.
- MAIN HARNESS - it is produced from extruded
jacketed cable with GPT (General Purpose Thermoplastic) insulated primary wires (12
gauge). The main harness contains no splices. It is spliceless, solid cable from one end
to the other, providing maximum protection from the elements throughout the total trailer
length. The front terminates in the Grote nose box or 7-way receptacle with specially
designed watertight plugs, or dummy plugs to close unused connection points.
