Most Powerful LED WhiteLight Lamp Now Packs Two Advanced Infrared Light Engines that Illuminate the Field of Operation Like Never Before

ALEXANDRIA, Va, USA (April 20, 2010) — Grote Industries, a world leader in high-performance LED lighting technology for the U.S. military, unveiled the newest member of its Trilliant family of high-performance, high-output LED lamps today at the annual Tactical Vehicle Summit.

The first of its kind, the Trilliant IR is a robust LED WhiteLight lamp with two, high-intensity, infrared light engines fully integrated into its bezel. The tough, long-lasting lamp has been field tested in brutal off-road conditions and shares the basic characteristics that have made Trilliant LED WhiteLight lamps famous among today’s mobile warfighters.

“This is a breakthrough in exterior vehicle lighting for military applications,” Eric Thorstensen, director of OEM sales for Grote Industries said. “The optical prescription for the infrared light engines employs special features, providing greatly enhanced peripheral and forward illumination.”

Each of the Trilliant IR’s two light engines houses high-intensity, state-of-the-art, infrared light emitting diodes from Advanced Vehicle Systems, Inc., (AVS). The Trilliant IR represents the first collaborative effort between Grote and AVS, two of the most innovative developers of LED-based military illumination systems.

With thousands of Trilliant LED WhiteLight lamps already deployed with U.S. troops around the globe, Thorstensen indicated that the ability to quickly and efficiently retrofit existing Trilliants was a key factor in the new lamp’s overall design approach. Upgrading from an existing Trilliant LED WhiteLight lamp to a Trilliant IR lamp is as easy as ordering a new bezel.
