Brad Morris Appointed to Second Vice Chair of AIA Canada Morris on Track to be National Chairman in 2010 Brad Morris, General Manager of Grote Industries Canada, has recently been elected to second vice chair on the Executive Board of Directors for the Automotive Industries Association of Canada. Morris is on the track to become National Chairman in 2010.
Morris has also been a member of the Supplier’s Council and the Marketing/Public Relations Committees. Currently, he is chairing the Task Force conducting a governance review of the Association for 2008. Morris celebrates more than 20 years with Grote and has held numerous positions within the Sales, Marketing and Operational Departments. Another key area of responsibility is his role within the International Management Integration & Strategy process for Grote globally. “Although there is no question that I am personally proud to take on this challenge, I am most proud for what this means for Grote, and the original leadership path and seed that Eric established. In one way this is a culmination of the role Grote Industries, not any one person, has achieved in Canada,” Morris said. “From a little company that most had never even heard of only a few short decades ago, to now hold the Chairman’s position for the entire industry is a testament to the leadership commitment we have made to this country and continue internationally. The “little company that grew” should be proud throughout of this position we have achieved together and the recognition Grote continues to achieve.” Morris is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, ON. He is also a volunteer committee member of the Markham/Stouffville Hospital Foundation. “One of the key areas of focus for me will be to ensure that the Association identifies a strategic direction to optimize representation for the entire industry and ultimately value. There is no question we have come a long way in establishing intimate Government Relations but will need to ensure the membership is well structured. To prepare for that strategic review I have currently been asked to Chair the Association’s Governance Review,” Morris said. The AIA of Canada is a national trade association representing the automotive aftermarket industry in Canada. The Canadian aftermarket is a $16.1 billion industry that employs more than 400,000 people. AIA’s mandate is to promote, educate and represent members of all areas that impact the growth and prosperity of the industry, with a strategic focus on Government Relations at national and regional levels.
