Grote Takes the Lead With LED WhiteLight™ Innovation

New Interior and Forward LED Lighting Products,

Global Expansion, Competitive Spirit Put Company Out In Front

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky, USA – Grote Industries, the long-standing leader in lighting and vehicle safety systems, unveiled not one, but multiple, industry-altering new products and highlighted several, global expansions for the company – all in a single, explosive announcement at the Mid-America Trucking Show.

“When it comes to qualifications in this race, Grote is setting the pace,” said Dominic Grote, company vice president of sales and marketing.

In the one hour news conference, Grote:

  • Revealed how it will deliver a superior LED forward Lamp in the coming months by showing off a 6,000-lumen lighting array that competed in the brutal Baja 1000 race.
  • Explained how it has engineered a solution for the destructive thermal barrier that has limited LED lighting’s output capacity.
  • Outlined its development of a new, revolutionary line of LED military lighting.
  • Demonstrated its new, advanced, warm  “ergonomic” LED WhiteLight™ colors, engineered to reduce stress and provide optimum viewing comfort.
  • Unveiled new LED electronic dome light controls, mounting pans and wiring systems.
  • Highlighted
    • The opening of a state-of-the-art electronics center in Waterloo, Canada.
    • The opening of a high-tech manufacturing facility in Monterey, Mexico.
    • The creation of a European JVO, Luxi Lighting, with the Rinder Group of Spain.
  • Reviewed its other recent successes in LED WhiteLight™ Innovation for interior and forward lighting applications.

“Just as we have done for each of Grote’s 106 years, we are pioneering technology, and expanding distribution channels to deliver the newest, best and most reliable products to the marketplace,” Grote said.

Grote pointed to the groundbreaking development of an auxiliary off-road driving lamp created for last fall’s Baja 1000 race as evidence of its engineering successes.

The company crafted three, 2,000-lumen, blazing-white LED lamps and installed them on a race team’s truck. Never before had more LED lighting horsepower been bolted to any vehicle. The LEDs not only did a better job of slicing through the dust and silt-choked course than the truck’s overhead incandescent lights, they outlasted the vehicle.

Equally significant, the crew was able to demand the most from the lights in part because Grote found a way to dissipate the lamps’ internal heat without resorting to primitive technology, such as fans, as other manufacturers have done.

“The heavy-duty, off-highway market has been waiting for LED, forward lighting and work lamps, and Grote will deliver them in a matter of months, not years,” Grote promised.

Meanwhile, Grote is set to deliver new, warm white LED lights to the market that rely on advanced optics and spectral technology to deliver a bright, but pleasant, more soothing light. No longer will people be forced to endure harsh, stark light to enjoy the benefits of enhanced interior illumination, he explained.

“We’ve introduced innovative LED WhiteLight™ colors that are not only warm, but bright. They literally reduce stress and provide optimum viewing comfort. You might call it ergonomic lighting,” he said.

Grote’s new military level LEDs offer dual operating modes: standard, WhiteLight™, illumination mode; and tactical or blackout mode, which uses a combination of red/white or blue/white color to allow soldiers to see, while being less visible to the enemy. The military line also enhances the use of night-vision technology.

All of which will enjoy wider distribution thanks to major moves by Grote in just the past year to broaden its global presence. In addition to its new facilities in Canada and Mexico, Grote has burst onto the European market with Luxi Lighting, its cooperative venture with the Rinder Group, a noted European leader in vehicle lighting.

Conversely, Luxi Lighting, now has a U.S. presence, taking Grote and Rinder products into previously untapped, off-highway markets.

“We all know how races are won,” Grote said. “It’s not just the car, or the driver or the crew, it’s everything and everyone working together.

“We have the technology. We have the manufacturing and distribution channels in position, and we have the products the marketplace is demanding either on the road right now or on the drawing board, ready to move forward,” Grote continued. “Add that to our 106-year track record of competitive wins, and I assure you that Grote will remain out in front in LED WhiteLight™ technology now and in the foreseeable future.”
