Dominic Grote Wins Prestigious Education Award Aftermarket Training Efforts Cited By Northwood University
Las Vegas. (October 31, 2006) — Dominic Grote, vice president of sales and marketing for Grote Industries, received the annual Aftermarket Management Education Award today at the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Northwood University Aftermarket Management Education Awards program was established in 1975 to recognize individuals in the vehicle aftermarket industry who have made noteworthy contributions to education, public or private. The award was created to insure that these individuals receive national recognition for their efforts to improve educational opportunities at all levels inside or outside of the industry. Dominic is the third member of the Grote family to be honored by Northwood, with his father Bill having received this recognition in 1999 and his uncle Walter having been the initial recipient in 1975. “Dominic has distinguished himself as someone who is concerned and dedicated to education within the aftermarket industry through his involvement with various aftermarket and OEM industry groups,” said Dr. Tim Nash, Northwood Provost. “He has taken an active role to stay apprised of changes in the industry related to information technology, applying them to the mass instruction of automotive and heavy duty truck technicians, both in traditional printed materials and on the Internet,” Nash concluded. Grote is also the current chairman of the Transportation Safety Equipment Institute. Northwood University is a private, fully accredited university specializing in managerial and entrepreneurial education offering two and four year degrees in a variety of enterprise fields.
