Grote Introducss Three New LED Strobes

Yellow Safety Strobes Offer Extended Life

Madison, IN (September 25, 2005) – Grote Industries has announced the addition of three new LED strobe units to its line of emergency safety lighting: High Profile (class II), Low Profile (class II) and the Mighty Mini (class III). The two class II units are also available in magnet-mount configurations.

“As LED technology strengthens, its use in lighting applications is broadening”, said Chris Cammack, Grote Brand Manager. “LEDs are more durable than more traditional lighting options (incandescent bulbs and flash tubes) because there are no filaments to shake or vibrate loose. This makes the LED a perfect candidate for strobe lighting where equipment may experience rough terrain”.

Class II strobes are ideal for cities, municipalities and fleets who want a long lasting, durable strobe lamp. Class III lamps are best suited for warehouse type applications.

SignalAlert™ on the class III units, with its non-constant flash duration, makes them more noticeable than standard strobes with a constant pattern.

“Durability, long life, and low power consumption of LEDs are still viable LED benefits,” continued Cammack. “Less maintenance is a result of the durability, (rated to 100,000 hours of service) - not just for the lamp but the light source. That’s up to 50 times greater than flash tubes in some cases!”

The class II strobes have 14 flash patterns from which to choose. Scan-Lock™ flash patterns allow users to manually scroll through 14 flash patterns and choose the one that suits their needs, and lock it in as the permanent flash pattern.

Class II units feature Smart LED® Beacon Design internal flash control so there is no need for an external power supply, flasher or ballast.
