LED Dome lamps

Madison, Ind. (February 13, 2004) - Fleets have several new options when selecting dome lamps. Grote Industries introduces a complete line of LED dome lamps that are easily retrofitted and maintain the highest quality of durability and reliability for long-term use in a variety of applications, including truck cabs, trailers and bodies.

The use of Grote SuperNova LED dome lamps eliminates the need to replace bulbs and means the lamp will last the life of the truck or trailer. All internal components are fully protected with a high-performance potting compound for durability, water/corrosion resistance and maximum heat transference.

 The four new Grote SuperNova LED dome lamps are:

•  Surface-Mount LED Cab Dome Lamp (part #61621)

•  Rectangular LED Trailer Dome Lamp (part #61611)

•  Four-inch Diameter Metal Flange LED Dome Lamp (part #61141)

•  Four-inch Grommet Mounted LED Dome Lamp (part #61581)

 The dome lamps will operate in temperatures as low as minus 40 degrees C, making them ideal for refrigerated trailer applications. The Grote Surface-Mount Cab Dome Lamp is constructed with an extruded aluminum base assembly and an internal light dispersion lens made from high-impact acrylic for long life.

The attractive styling of the Grote Rectangular LED Trailer Dome Lamp integrates smoothly with trailer panels. The fixture is recessed into the trailer ceiling, eliminating the "add-on-look" and minimizing fixture protrusion into the trailer compartment.

For applications calling for a small lamp, but a lot of light, the Four-inch Diameter Metal Flange LED Dome Lamp and the Four-inch Grommet Mounted LED Dome Lamp are excellent choices offering average light output of 84 lumens (6.65 candlepower)

The Rectangular LED Trailer Dome Lamp is water-resistant and made with a "one-piece" steel metal base. A removable high-impact acrylic lens is sealed to the lamp body with a PVC foam seal. This seal allows the lamp's casing to retain its flexibility and sealing properties during extreme temperature changes.

 "The dome lamps are compatible with existing trailer lighting systems," says Tim Brooks, Grote director of product development. "The comprehensive line makes it possible for an entire fleet to be retrofitted with our dome lamps in just a couple of hours."

SuperNova LED lamps from Grote Industries are bright, long-lasting and easy to retrofit. The Four-inch Grommet Mounted LED Dome Lamp feature solid pin connectors to provide secure wiring system connections and eliminate failure points. Grote's "Plug and Go" technology lets fleets retrofit quickly and easily because the connections are the same as those of incandescent lamps. The lamps use DoubleSeal pigtails for all LED connections and harness interfaces. Fleets simply remove their old lamps and plug in the Grote LED lamp using the old holes. There is no cutting or splicing needed. The low amperage draw allows for more power in other systems like anti-lock brakes.
