Bring Technicians Up to Speed with Grote Know-How Ask the Expert
Question: Answer: Not all clearance and marker lamps have a “PC” rating. If you use one that does not have this rating, your driver can be ticketed. In 2000, NHTSA issued an interpretation that allows for the PC-rated lamp to be mounted on the front side of trailers, rather than the corner. In this case, the light must be visible from the front. Therefore, the PC-rated lamp could not be used in a sunken rail or a corner that is built up so that it would block the light to the front. The questions in this issue were answered by John Nolan, Grote’s corporate trainer. For more information on arranging customized training for your fleet, contact Mike Grote, fleet sales manager, at mike.grote@grote.com. If you have a question for one of Grote’s experts, send it to expert@grote.com and watch future issues of “G-Forces” for the answer. If we use your question, we’ll send you a dozen Titleist Pro V1 golf balls! |
